You obtain the egcobox®-software for the calculation of cantilever connection systems as a freeware with the following features:

  • Selection of different languages and standards.
  • Input of project data and details of your company.
  • Choice of different standard geometries/loads with variable measurement.
  • Input of geometry values and material grades.
  • Calculation of the cantilever and choice of the appropriate cantilever connection system.
  • Input of internal forces and measurements.
  • Sectional drawing and horizontal projection.
  • Display of the results on the screen and in Word.

Please note, you need a registration to activate the egcobox®-software.

Change(s):
  • The top view and the sectional drawing (incl. measurements) has been reworked.
  • New standards: Slowenia and Ukraine.
  • A discontinous laying of the Egcoboxes is possible.
  • New insulation material: Styrofoam.
  • Selection of elements for recessed loggia/veranda balcony: The cantilever is fixed by elements capable of bearing moments. Sideways the slab is supported by shear force elements. The shear force elements get a 10 mm higher concrete cover (2nd layer), because of a collision of reinforcement.
  • Selection of elements for internal corner cantilever balcony: The balcony slab is fixed by elements capable of bearing moments. Therefore the sideway elements in the corner gets a 10 mm higher concrete cover (2nd layer), because of a collision of reinforcement.
  • Switzerland: Preset horizontal load of handrail: 0.8 kN/m according to SIA 260. In Germany and for all other standards the horizontal load of handrail ist preset to 0.5 kN/m.
  • Switzerland: Preset height of handrail: 1.20 m according to SIA 260. In Germany and for all other standards the hight of handrail is preset to 1.00 m.
  • The project name is printed out in the structural analysis. Until now the field has been left blank by mistake.
  • Under certain circumstances an overflow occured for the line load. Thus the line load has not been included.
  • For the recessed loggia/veranday balcony the bearing has not been generated correctly. Therefore the internal forces have not been symmetrically.
  • The line load for internal corner cantilever balcony is carried out parallel to the joint (anciently: line load has been parallel to backmost fixing.
  • For the Polish standard the safety factors have been set to dead loads = 1.15 and live loads = 1.3. Therefore the values mEd and vEd from the design table are multiplied with the factor 0.9.

Change(s):
  • New language: Russian.
  • New Insulations: Foamglas and Polystyrene 0,031. Due to its excellent insulating properties Polystyrene 0,031 is selected by default. The old insulation Polystyrene (0,035) has been deleted.
  • Printing of the structural analysis (anciently list of items) and of the order list (anciently list of positions) is carried out as PDF file now.
  • Internal corner cantilever balcony: Only normal elements are selected (anciently +/- elements).
  • Partitioning of the elements for the cantilever balcony and and for the beam supported balcony is now consistent. The selection of the elements was mathematically correct, but harder to understand. Additionally the partitioning of the elements is now more economic.
  • Sectional drawings for the conical balcony is now displayed correctly:
    Sectional drawing conical ha < he and
    Sectional drawing conical ha > he.
  • The by default selected class of concrete strength for the Swiss standard is now C25/30 (anciently C20/25).
  • For the Swiss standard the level of the shear force strength is now always displayed (QA, QB and QC).
    Anciently QA has not been displayed.
  • The company's logo is now automatically scaled. Therefor the restriction of the size to 150x150 pixel is abrogated.
  • Due to the change of the company's name in Austria the contact addresses have been updated: Max Frank GesmbH instead of ABSTA.
  • The privacy policy has been updated to the latest legislation and can be downloaded from internet.
  • In the status bar the support hotline is now displayed (anciently name of the programme and date).

  • New languages: Slovenian and Dutch.
  • New contact addresses: Max Frank UK, ABSTA Niederlassung Dornbirn (Austria) and Max Frank Nederland BV.
  • Advanced usability: The Programm was designed more user friendly against faulty insertions.
  • When calculating with the Italian standard, please note that the safety factor for dead loads in the variables window in the Egcobox®-Software has been reduced to 1.30. This follows from the D.M. (Decreto Ministeriale / Ministerial Decree) from the 14th of January 2008. The user of the program is solely responsible for altering this value if necessary.
  • A manual in German and English for the Egcobox®-Software is now available.
